Greenhead Ward
Q & A with the Greenhead Ward Candidate
Name – Robert McGuin
Age - 21
Where do you live - I live in Marsh where I have lived all my life.
Why do you want to be a Councillor - I feel we need big changes in our Country. Being a Councillor can bring about a small but a change for the better in my local area. I feel and many local people feel let down by the Labour run Council and this Government. For the current Labour Councillors in the Ward to defend the Prime Minister just goes to show how out of touch they are especially when you consider that they blatantly lied when they said "We don't do national politics" in their leaflets at the last local elections.
Can you win - To be truthful the odds are stacked against me but everything I have achieved in my life most times or not the odds have been stacked against me. Whatever happens if I don't win I will go down with a fight!
What have you done for the area - I attend local meetings, events, walks around the area and canvass for people's views. Any local issues arising from all this I do something about it or keep an eye on it.
What do you think of your current MP - I think he's too old, done little for Huddersfield, always votes for his party no matter what, out of touch, find it disgraceful that he lives miles away from Huddersfield and that I feel he has being riding the gravy train for far too long.
How much Expenses have you claimed - I have been a Candidate for nearly a year and a half and have claimed nothing and get paid nothing.
Is there anything else you would like to say - I feel honoured to be a Candidate in the Ward I live in and grew up in and I encourage everybody in the Ward to consider me as a Candidate and to vote even if it's not for me!
